A special resourceful edition of MichiSpotlight

This is a special edition of MichiSpotlight that will appear few times a month in your inbox, containing some valuable resources and opportunities for you to leverage.

In this one, we will focus on UI/UX. I’ll be sending out more of these newsletters with opportunities and resources for every domain one by one.

UI/UX Tips and Resources

Get better at UI Design by following this short routine:

A nice routine exercise for beginners in frontend development and full-stack design: 1) Go to @Behance or @dribbble, pick a design, try to replicate it in Figma. 2) Write some code to replicate the design pixel by pixel. 3) Lastly, try tweaking the design to improve UX.

Additional Tips:

1) Try to increase the difficulty level of the designs you're picking up from these platforms as you progress.

2) Make sure that once you have enough practice, you try building authentic designs.

3) Document everything you're doing in your portfolio or the form of a blog.

4) When you document stuff as a beginner, you have something to show for when you're applying for internships, even if you don't have many big projects.

5) You can also try Frontend Mentor to improve your design skills.
